Haiti: Start of School Year Pushed Back to October 1st
The official opening of the 2012 school year, as in 2011, was pushed back a month to the first Monday in October for better preparation.
After meeting with his Minister of Finance, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe informed the population they would receive an extra month to prepare for the school year, pushing the start of classes to October 1st.
